Rare Find: This item is hard to come by. Such a beautiful Christmas plate made by Royal Copenhagen for the 1951 Christmas season. The title of the plate is The Christmas Angel and features a young girl Angel, holding a candle high above her head and opening a door into a dark room. The plate is solid and heavy and has a raised texture to highlight the design as well as a shiny glossy glaze finish. Done in a traditional Royal Copenhagen blues and whites, the rim has a pretty pine cone border with a star at the top of the plate. And the letters & numbers. 19. JUL. 51 on the bottom. The back of the plate reads Royal Copenhagen, Denmark. JHX. There are three lines going through the three waves. This means that it did not meet the factory's high quality standards. And may have a very minor imperfection. A color may be a bit to light or a paints speck on the plate. Nonetheless, I cannot see what the imperfection is on this plate. I have lowered my price from $275 to $175 on this rare plate.
